Spotlight- Dr. Matt Coleman

April 6, 2012 - Dr. Matthew Coleman joined LifeShare Blood Centers as the Associate Medical Director in January bringing nine years of experience in blood banking and transfusion medicine.

Dr. Coleman is a fellow in the American Society for Clinical Pathology and a diplomate of the American Board of Pathology with certification in Clinical Pathology and Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine. After earning a bachelor’s degree from the Univeristy of Oklahoma, Dr. Coleman earned his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. Dr. Coleman completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the Uni-versity of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and a Transfusion Medicine Fellowship at Baystate Medical Center/Tufts University of Medicine in Springfield, Mass. Prior to joining LifeShare, Dr. Coleman was the Assistant Medical Director for United Blood Services in Las Vegas.

Moving from the “Very Hot and Very Dry” West to the “Really Hot and Really Humid” South, Dr. Coleman brings his family of wife, Liz, and two boys, Sammy, 2 and Aaron, 7 months. For all intents and purposes a native of Oklahoma, he is glad to be able to say “fixin” and “y’all” again.
