Cruz’n the Delta, the premier collectible car show event started with antique cars, trucks, hot rods and extremes lining up at the new Academy Sports parking lot Saturday, September 8th for the cruise through the twin cities. About 80 car show exhibitors brought their beloved cars and trucks to the event. The West Ouachita Crimson Line Dance girls helped out at registration by passing out registration forms and helping the Advertising Club volunteers collect the registration fee for the cars.

Ricky Red Bird led the cruise in a white truck sponsored by Creed & Creed.

The police escorted cruise rolled through West Monroe at 11 a.m. on a beautiful sunny day due to the delight of numerous onlookers.

After crossing the Lea Joyner Bridge into Monroe, the cruise turned down Riverside drive for a leisurely cruise through tree shaded streets around Forsythe Park and Loop Road all the way out to Chennault Park and DeltaFest where they were waved into the park to their designated parking area across from the main stage area where Charlie Daniels was to play later that night. The train even stopped for the cruise to enter Chennault Park.

At DeltaFest, the parking area was marked by The Ameristar Casino Vicksburg presents Cruz’n the Delta banner and by Luxury Sponsors Arrow Dental Center, WalMart Monroe, and St. Francis Medical Center Banner as well as the LifeShare Blood Centers tent and mobile donor bus. Along the roadside our Limited Edition sponsor signs for Lee Edwards Mazda, Donnie Grubbs Vinyl Siding, Mitchell’s Body and Frame Shop, Animal Hospital, Lefebvre Veterinary Medical Center, and Tool Town, LLC formed a boundary for the car exhibit. The car show exhibitors received many In-Kind gifts from sponsors such as Chili’s Grill & Bar, Johnny’s Pizza, Hooters, RSVP, Moore & Patron, Tummy Yummy, and WalMart West Monroe.

The Hot Rod Sponsors, Creed & Creed, Hixson Autoplex, and Courtesy Automotive Team Banner marked the second designated parking area.
