LifeShare Blood Center - Shreveport to Receive $20k Incentive Check from SWEPCO

SHREVEPORT, LA – Wednesday, November 7, 2018; 1:30 pm – 8910 Linwood Avenue, Shreveport, LA – SWEPCO will present LifeShare Blood Center with a rebate check totaling $20,482.71 for fulfilling the terms of SWEPCO’s “Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency Program.” LifeShare’s investment in upgrading 904 incandescent and florescent light bulbs with light-emitting diodes (LED) lighting throughout both the interior and exterior of the blood center. LifeShare will achieve an annual energy savings of $13,000 annually. In an effort to better utilize resources and help conserve energy for future generations LifeShare plans to institute this program in other facilities, beginning with the new upcoming LifeShare Baton Rouge facility. “We’re connecting donors and the lives they impact, more efficiently”, says Jorge Garcia, LifeShares’ Director of Property and Fleet. Read More...

LifeShare gives donors a chance to become a Mega Million Donor

October 22, 2018 – The local blood supply has reached a critically low level.  Type O there is a 1.8-day blood supply and less than 1-day of other types. Anyone able to donate or has considered giving is encouraged to go to a blood donation center or drive.  It only takes about 15 minutes to find out if you are eligible to give. O- blood type is the universal red blood cell that can be transfused into any patient, regardless of blood type. O- red cells must be used for trauma situations and other emergencies. September 25, 2018 – LifeShare Blood Center has NOT merged with other blood center brands across the nation.  A misleading statement appeared in a September 24, 2018 news article announcing ten donation centers, including LifeShare, had merged with blood center brands across the nation to be known under the name Vitalant.
