LifeShare Blood Center - Shreveport to Receive $20k Incentive Check from SWEPCO

SHREVEPORT, LA – Wednesday, November 7, 2018; 1:30 pm – 8910 Linwood Avenue, Shreveport, LA – SWEPCO will present LifeShare Blood Center with a rebate check totaling $20,482.71 for fulfilling the terms of SWEPCO’s “Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency Program.” LifeShare’s investment in upgrading 904 incandescent and florescent light bulbs with light-emitting diodes (LED) lighting throughout both the interior and exterior of the blood center. LifeShare will achieve an annual energy savings of $13,000 annually. In an effort to better utilize resources and help conserve energy for future generations LifeShare plans to institute this program in other facilities, beginning with the new upcoming LifeShare Baton Rouge facility. “We’re connecting donors and the lives they impact, more efficiently”, says Jorge Garcia, LifeShares’ Director of Property and Fleet.

SWEPCO's “Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency Program” provides incentives for facilities to reduce peak electric demand and annual energy consumption, resulting in improved building performance and comfort. Incentives are available for both existing buildings and new construction projects and are based on the verified electric energy savings. SWEPCO’s energy efficiency programs are approved by the Louisiana Public Service Commission (LPSC) and funded through an LPSC approved rider. The commercial program offers incentives for Fluorescent & LED Lighting Upgrades; HVAC Upgrades; Lighting Controls; Air Compressor System Upgrades; Motor Upgrades and more.

SWEPCO also has energy efficiency programs for residential customers.
