LifeShare Blood Centers is holding their first student video contest from now until Nov. 15, 2014.
Videos must be submitted by high school or college students living the LifeShare Blood Centers service territory, which includes 80 parishes and counties throughout Louisiana, east Texas, and south Arkansas.
The top five videos will then be placed on the LifeShare Facebook page for voting. The winner will receive a new iPad and the four runner ups will each receive a $25 gift certificate to Best Buy. The 2014 video contest theme is “Why is blood donation important?”. Any video submitted could be used to help educate and inspire others to give blood. Submission forms and full details may be found at www.lifeshare.org.
“More than one-third of our local blood supply comes from students in our communities. We want to see and to share the importance of blood donation through the eyes of these students. The contest is open to everyone. Even if someone can’t donate blood they can help encourage someone else to give,” says Tina Hooper, spokesperson for LifeShare Blood Centers.
LifeShare Blood Centers regularly supplies blood components to 117 medical facilities throughout Louisiana, East Texas and South Arkansas. Founded in Shreveport, La. in 1942, it is a nonprofit community service provider governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees. LifeShare is a member of America’s Blood Centers and the American Rare Donor Program, is licensed by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration and accredited by AABB.
