July 17, 2016 – In response to the community coming forward to donate blood in a show of solidarity and support for the Baton Rouge officers who were victims in today’s tragic shooting, LifeShare Blood Centers has extended its hours and blood drives to accommodate more donors.  

The Baton Rouge LifeShare donation center at 3849 North Boulevard will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, July 18 and Tuesday, July 19. A blood drive will be held at Walmart, 308 North Airline Highway, Gonzales, La., tomorrow from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Blood drives on Tuesday, July 19 are scheduled for the Zachary Fire Department, 4525 Main Street, Zachary, La. from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., and EFCU Financial, 10719 Airline Highway, Baton Rouge 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Due to the high volume of blood donors coming forward, willing donors are also encouraged to schedule appointments for future dates to continue to support a stable blood supply for the Baton Rouge community.
