June 6, 2017 — LifeShare Blood Center celebrated its 75th anniversary today at their headquarters here in Shreveport. At the event, LifeShare also announced its new logo and mission statement.
The event included a proclamation presented by Africa Price, Director of Communications for the City of Shreveport Mayor’s office, naming June 6, 2017 LifeShare Blood Center Day in celebration of its founding in Shreveport in 1942, the impact of many years of service, and its growth. Dr. Jerard Martin, the organization’s longest serving board member at 45 years, accepted on behalf of LifeShare.
In launching their new logo and mission statement, Tina Martinez, Executive Director of Marketing and Communications for LifeShare, gave a brief explanation of the representation of the new logo design and colors, which is now visible on their signage at the Linwood Avenue location in Shreveport. The mission statement unveiled is “We connect donors and the lives they impact.”
LifeShare Blood Center has eight fixed donation sites in Louisiana and Texas and primarily serves medical facilities and donors in 80 parishes and counties in and around the centers. It is a nonprofit community service provider governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees. LifeShare is a member of America’s Blood Centers and the American Rare Donor Program, is licensed by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration and accredited by AABB.
