LifeShare Blood Center has appointed Carrie Hrisafi, CPA as Chief Financial Officer. She joined the organization in early 2014 and was most recently the Director, Financial Services. A CPA in both Louisiana and Texas, Carrie graduated summa cum laude from the University of Texas at Arlington; she brings experience from accounting firms including Carr, Riggs & Ingram and PricewaterhouseCoopers, and as a real estate agent.
Other changes at LifeShare include the appointment of Monica Kalvelage, MSTM, MT(ASCP)MB, SBB to Chief Operations Officer overseeing the long-term strategic operations of LifeShare and its IRL and Scientific Support Services. Most recently the Executive Director, Technical Operations and prior to that the Director, Laboratory Services at LifeShare, she also has experience as a Medical Technologist at blood center and medical facilities. Monica holds an M.S. in Transfusion Medicine from the University of Texas, Medical Branch, has been published by and presented for AABB among other organizations, and is currently an AABB IRL and Molecular Testing Assessor and member of ICII.
Margaret Plunkett was appointed to Chief Administrative Officer overseeing Human Resources, Quality and Regulatory Services, Training, and IT Departments. Certified by the Human Resources Certification Institute and SHRM with a B.S. in Human Resources from Louisiana Tech, Margaret was previously the Executive Director, Human Resources for LifeShare and prior to that the Vice President of Human Resources for Goodwill Industries of Northwest Louisiana.
Geri Venable has been appointed to Executive Director, Blood Operations. Previously the Executive Director, Donor Operations, her responsibilities have expanded to oversee the planning, organizing, recruitment, collection, processing, and distribution of blood products with teams in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas. Geri has experience at other blood centers and CSL plasma in multiple states. She holds a B.A. in Business Administration and an Associate of Technology in Environmental Engineering, and currently serves on the AABB Abstract Selection committee and is a member of SCABB and ADRP.
