EXTENDED HOURS AT OPEN CENTERS

Updated August 30, 2017 – LifeShare Blood Center is extending its center hours until 7:00 p.m. today through Thursday, August 31 to accommodate additional blood donations because of the severe weather along the coast. IMPENDING WEATHER INCREASES NEED FOR BLOOD DONORS

August 23, 2017 -- Predictions from the National Hurricane Center indicate severe weather and especially flooding throughout the area LifeShare Blood Center serves near the Texas-Louisiana coast. In order to ensure blood is available for hospitals and patients LifeShare serves in the southeastern Texas and south Louisiana area, they are asking eligible donors in all locations to make a blood donation prior to the weather impact. Read More...

FRIENDS ORGANIZE BLOOD DRIVE IN HONOR OF EL COMPADRE SHOOTING VICTIM, JUAN ZUNIGA

Shreveport, La., July 31, 2017 – Friends of Juan Zuniga, who was tragically shot when coming to the aid of his mother during an armed robbery, are hosting a blood drive this week in his honor. Zuniga is the son of late restaurant owner of El Compadre Mexican and Seafood Restaurant. The drive will occur at the Shreveport LifeShare location, 8910 Linwood Avenue, beginning Monday, July 31 through Friday, August 4. Blood donors will have the opportunity to add a personal message to cards indicating their donation in his honor. NEW GENERATOR DONATED TO HELP SUSTAIN LOCAL BLOOD SUPPLY

Monroe, La., July 26, 2017 — Officials from Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, the Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA), Ouachita Parish Police Jury, and the City of Monroe joined LifeShare Blood Center today to announce the installation of a new 125kw diesel generator. The new generator has the capacity to supply electricity to the entire facility, which is vitally important during times of prolonged outages, which typically occur after damaging storms. Read More...

Local law enforcement and fire fighters host Cuffs & Hoses blood drives in May

May 5, 2017 — Shreveport, La. —  Cuffs & Hoses Blood Drives will be hosted by local law enforcement and fire fighters from Friday, May 5 through Thursday, May 25, 2017. These organizations are inviting the public to join them in donating blood to help others. LOW BLOOD SUPPLY UPDATE

February 12, 2017 – More blood donors are needed now to increase the blood supply, which remains at a level estimated to last only two days. Blood donations of all types are being used daily by patients. In order to continue to meet patient needs and stabilize the supply, LifeShare reports that thousands more blood donors are needed this week in the area it serves, which includes most of Louisiana, and areas around Beaumont and Texarkana, Texas. Read More...
