Making a New Year's Resolution To Save Lives

Local Law Enforcement Holds Blood Drives in Honor of Harmon and Jean Drew

Shreveport and Bossier City Police Departments and the Caddo, Bossier and Webster Parish Sheriffs Offices have joined together to hold blood drives in honor of Minden residents, Jean and Harmon Drew. The Drews have been teaching Louisiana law enforcement officers throughout Louisiana for more than 30 years, and annually publish “True Blue Drew Book,” a praised resource for Louisiana law enforcement officers. Read More...

Honor a Veteran Through Blood Donation

During November, you can give blood at LifeShare Blood Centers in honor of a Veteran. Every donor at the center will be provided a card indicating they gave blood in honor of a Veteran. LifeShare Blood Centers is encouraging blood donors to bring a friend when donating. During the month of August, LifeShare blood donors will receive a “Get in the Game for Life” football-themed t-shirt. Shreveport and Texarkana LifeShare Blood Centers Host 2013 Mash Bash Blood Drive

LifeShare Blood Centers and KTBS3 have joined together again to host the MASH BASH Blood Drive, Wed., July 10 and Thurs., July 11. The annual blood drive will take place at the Shreveport, Bossier City, and the Texarkana LifeShare locations as well as the Bossier Civic Center, the Minden Civic Center, and select Walmart locations. Plant Explosion Near Baton Rouge Imposes Increased Need for Blood Donations

By moving blood components from other LifeShare locations, the Baton Rouge LifeShare center now has temporarily replenished the supply available to the hospitals. We are continuing to carefully monitor the supply and work with Baton Rouge General’s blood bank to fulfill their ongoing needs. The LifeShare supply is currently low in O negative and O positive blood, but otherwise stable at the moment. We do expect hospitals to request more blood today. In the coming days, patients will continue to use blood components; this expectation includes significant usage by at least three burn victims of the plant explosion near Geismar. Read More...

The Shreveport Police Department, Shreveport Fire Department, Office of the Shreveport City Marshal, and Caddo Parish Sheriffs Dept. Host Cuffs & Hoses Blood Drives

Today the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Dept., Shreveport Fire Dept., Office of the Shreveport City Marshal, and the Shreveport Police Dept., came together to kick off the Cuffs & Hoses Blood Drives to be held through Saturday, June 15 at these local organizations’ facilities. The blood drives are being held in honor of Lauren Fogger Tigges, a recovering car accident victim.
