Bring a Friend to Help the Local Blood Supply

August 5, 2013 – LifeShare Blood Centers is encouraging blood donors to bring a friend when donating. During the month of August, LifeShare blood donors will receive a “Get in the Game for Life” football-themed t-shirt. Donors that also bring a friend to give blood at any LifeShare center will also receive a white LifeShare baseball cap.

“Like we’ve seen before, this summer season is proving difficult to find enough blood donors to meet local hospitals’ demands. Besides the ongoing need for red blood cells and platelets, we’ve also seen unusually high plasma usage during the last month. We hope that by asking donors to bring a friend that it will remind all residents to give blood and make sure patients’ needs are met,” says Tina Hooper, spokesperson for LifeShare Blood Centers.
