CRITICALLY LOW BLOOD SUPPLY

August 10, 2018 – The local blood supply has reached a critically low level with only enough to last 1.6 days. Anyone able to donate is encouraged to go to a blood donation center or drive. Anyone who has considered giving is encouraged to go to a blood donation center or drive and be screened. It only takes about 15 minutes to find out if you are eligible to give. Multiple trauma patients have strained the O- blood supply. O- blood type is the universal red blood cell that can be transfused into any patient, regardless of blood type. O- red cells must be use for trauma situations and other emergencies. However, all blood types are needed. Read More...

Local law enforcement and fire fighters host Cuffs and Hoses blood drives in May

May 8, 2018 — Shreveport, La. — Local law enforcement and fire fighters are hosting Cuffs & Hoses Blood Drives this May in Caddo, Bossier and Webster Parishes.  Members of the organizations are giving blood and inviting the public to join them in making a difference in someone else’s life through blood donation. Critical Equipment Funded by Foundation for SETX installed at LifeShare

Beaumont, Texas, April 19, 2018 – LifeShare Blood Center installs an automated external defibrillator (AED) at its Beaumont facility. The rapid rise of cardiac events occurring in public places influenced LifeShare’s request to the Foundation for Southeast Texas to fund the purchase. LifeShare Announces New Positions

LifeShare Blood Center has appointed Carrie Hrisafi, CPA as Chief Financial Officer. She joined the organization in early 2014 and was most recently the Director, Financial Services. A CPA in both Louisiana and Texas, Carrie graduated summa cum laude from the University of Texas at Arlington; she brings experience from accounting firms including Carr, Riggs & Ingram and PricewaterhouseCoopers, and as a real estate agent. Read More...

Gov. John Bel Edwards’ Office Plans Holiday Blood Drive for December 6

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Governor’s Office is holding a blood drive on Wednesday, December 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the LifeShare bus. The bus will be parked near the Pentagon Barracks at the corner of North 3rd Street and Spanish Town Road. Blood donors at the drive will receive limited edition socks stating, “I gave someone another holiday” on the soles. Read More...
