Banking on Tomorrow
Shreveport’s My Blood, Your Blood – Banking on Tomorrow program has started for the 2007-2008 school year. Elementary, Middle and High School students in Webster and DeSoto parishes are participating in presentations by recruiters. Not only are the students learning about blood and how the blood center operates, they are also acting as “recruiters” by encouraging their family members to give blood, platelets or plasma. New blood drives are emerging from the program, helping the community every step of the way.
The schools are being offered their own copy of a My Blood, Your Blood DVD in coordination with recruiter-driven presentations. Any school in any Northwest Louisiana parish can call Melanie Lowe at 318-673-1533 to set up a presentation. |
