January is National Blood Donor Month

January is a month of new beginnings, resolutions and goals. Resolve to donate blood and give the gift of life to someone fighting cancer, sickle cell or another blood disorder. Take it a step further and encourage your friends and family to do the same.

You never know who your donation could help. Maybe someone like Kyra who receives blood transfusions regularly to help treat sickle cell.

When you give during the month of January at a LifeShare donation center or blood drive you will receive a special donor t-shirt. Donors who give in center will also be able to choose an additional gift in appreciation of their lifesaving donation.

LifeShare Blood Centers, established in Shreveport, La. in 1942, regularly supplies blood components to more than 100 medical facilities and hospitals throughout Louisiana, East Texas and South Arkansas. LifeShare is a member of America’s Blood Centers and the American Rare Donor Program, is licensed by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, and accredited by AABB. LifeShare Blood Centers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community blood bank governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees.
